Mike Garcia

Board Member

Mike Garcia of Citizens Bank was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, moving to Philadelphia over 25 years ago. Mike is a Vietnam era US Marine veteran. After his tour in the Marine Corps, he moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University. Mike began his career in Philadelphia in 1985 as a financial specialist with the former PRP, INC. a non-profit housing development organization. Soon after, he joined HACE as a business analyst committed to the economic growth and development of El Centro De Oro- the North 5th St commercial corridor.

In 1990 Mike joined Mellon Bank as a CRA Field Manager with his primary responsibility of providing access to affordable mortgage products to Philadelphia’s low to moderate-income community. In 2001, as a result of Citizens Bank’s acquisition of Mellon Bank’s retail banking operations, Mike joined Citizens Bank. Today he manages a Mid-Atlantic mortgage sales group in Pennsylvania; New Jersey and Delaware.

He currently serves as Chairman on the board of directors of HACE, a North Philadelphia community and economic development corporation. Mike is also on the board of Directors of El Concilio, a social service provider, and is also an advisory board member of the Lauretta Vaird Boys & Girls Club. He was the former chairman of the Housing Association of the Delaware Valley and co-chair of the Roberto Clemente Monument Committee responsible for the creation, commission and perpetual care of the Roberto Clemente statue located at the North Philadelphia middle school bearing his name.

Mike’s other passions are basketball, salsa dancing, golf, and reading. He currently resides in Bryn Mawr, PA with his wife Lori, son Michael a recent graduate of George Washington University, and daughter Julia a student at Harriton HS in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania.
